RA

Abbreviation: Right Ascension. Right ascension is one of the two coordinates commonly used to define the position of astronomical objects. It is analogous to terrestrial longitude. It is commonly measured in Hours, Minutes, and Seconds. The reference starting point is where the Sun crosses the celestial equator at the March Equinox. That point is called the ‘first point of Aries’.
